~*Mistune’s [的喜愛] ♥

[e]pik high’s [e]nergy & [e]motion.

Today is a happy day. Why? Today marks the release of Epik High’s sixth album. Named [e].
[e] consists of 30 tracks split between 2 cd’s on an album that comes with a book also. I have already pre-ordered my copy and am extremely exited to be receiving it! (Hopefully sooner than later)!

Epik High’s album will be consistent of what they’ve been producing but the tracks are fresh, tranquil, catchy, and oozing with creativity and experimentation. This music I find truly inspirational.
If you have been a long running fan of Epik High you will probably be anticipating this album as much as I am.
For those new to Epik High (tsk tsk!) they are an underground hip hop group known for their excellent skills in rapping and producing music that is not the kind of black gangsta wannabe rap that revolves around “hoes & hookers & homies & cash”. Their music although containing rap is often lyrically deep and thoughtful, the words are motivational and the voices are comfortable to the ear. Not only are the beats catchy, Epik High’s music also likes the use of keyboard-Piano, Guitar & Violin. A mixture of instruments, this music is never old, never cliche, never the same and never boring.
For brand new listeners I recommend some of Epik High’s more mainstream music for starters; we’ll start easy and if you like them you’ll find exploring their music an extremely rewarding experience.

Love Phobia & Lizards

What a strange title! You must be thinking. Well it is none other than the 3 words I chose to sum up Popular Korean Film “Love Phobia” (well that was it’s given title anyway). I sincerely felt that this film required a review, why?
Because I’m a sucker for these type of films. Sad, Cliche and a slightly strange love story.
Love Phobia tells the touching tale of two lovers, destined not to be together forever.
I for one, love a good cry after a sad film maybe I’m just a masochist but just like any other girl a sad love film is always bittersweet to the heart.

This film stars Kang Hye-jeong and Jo Seung-woo.
Love Phobia tells the tale of a young boy who meets a strange girl in a bright yellow raincoat claiming that she is cursed and whomever she touches will befall great misery, she also convinces him that she is an alien from outer space and her curse is related to this; however the story is not as complicated or as extra terrestrial as it seems.
Despite being warned several times by this weird yet cute girl, the boy follows her around and quickly commits to being her friend until one day she disappears. This also prompts the boy to seek out the girl and with great difficultly he does, just to let her disappear again, well why does this keep happening, you ask?
Is it just another pointless love story chase where they’ll find each other and live happily ever after in the end?
Well, yes and no.

*Spoilers – as per*
[ Watch the film and THEN come back? (: ]
The “curse” that this story describes is just a series of coincidences, our female lead character is not an alien, nor is she cursed she just claims so to protect those around her (which are not at all that many). Her story is that on a completely normal day out she and her family are driving around until they suddenly crash, ending the life of her father and her mother yet leaving her saved because of a blood transfusion. One she probably wishes she never had. The blood transfused into her was infected with the lethal disease AIDs. She is saved, to die another day. In being young and now orphaned she lives with a monk/priest who picked her up and decided to care for her.
The idea that she is an alien (or calls herself one) comes from an encounter with a doctor whom she asks (at a young age) “What is AIDs?” To which he replies “It is an Alien’s Flu.”
Embracing this idea she lives her life convincing others around her that she is an Alien.
She wore an eye-catching yellow raincoat in the pockets of which she hid a Lizard with a long name. This Lizard was her pet but also something else, he was used to scare off teachers that touched her. Obviously still believing that she is cursed! I think the Korean name of the film was related to Lizards somewhat too… Anyway…
The story then continues to follow her and the boy who fell in love with her, after her every disappearance they’d meet again, his love never once extinguished or wavered, she; strange in essence loved him back even though sometimes not wanting to, perhaps because she know that they wouldn’t end up together. After some Kiss and Chase the final scene is brought about, by this time he already knows of her condition and tells her that he’ll help her get back into space, because she is an alien and she told him that the aliens will come for her and she’ll have to go. He also painstakingly made her a crop circle just to signify his love and her leaving. It’s extremely confusing at the end because the story ends itself inside a metaphor, making the viewer believe that she’s actually left in a Spaceship.
However this meant heaven for her, that her last breaths have been drawn and that her last steps have been walked.
At this point I broke into tears for a good 10 minutes or so.

I guess the reason I was so intrigued by this film was because the mail role featured Tablo’s girlfriend. [Anyone that knows me will know that I am an Epik High/Tablo obsessive]. Admittedly I didn’t think she was very pretty, however she has this free, down to earth feel about her. A familiar fresh yet friendly face. I guess she’s average, cute. There must be something very special about her personality for her to be with Tablo. I give them credit for that. [Other than being a sickeningly good-looking pair]!

For this movie I loved the metaphorical references, that in itself was unique, the tale also unfolds itself nicely.
I reckon this movie ticks all the boxes for a romance, with a twist. Others may view it as too jumpy, unresolved and pieced together badly. But for me, who approached this film with an open mind and artistic view reckon it was a movie worth viewing.

Being an Avid reader of Fashion magazines and other girly cliche stuff like that. I stumbled upon a girl worth admiring.
The september Issue of Elle featured fashion blogger Susie Bubble. It is obvious to anyone that she is already prominently praised upon fashion bloggers and readers alike. Having being interviewed, drawn and partaking in other publicizing activities Susie Bubble is quite well known.
Her blog is very worthy of visiting and the way she writes is also itself very sophisticated and reader-friendly. Almost like a chat about what’s new and happening on the streets.
Blogging from London; Bubble is in the centre of high fashion and she herself is a part of it. She is an inspiration to me plus I’d love to meet her.
I highly recommend you check her site out!

Lacoste FreeStyle/Hi-Top Trainers

Probably my best buy this week. A day to birmingham was cancelled so I hopped into the old nearby city for some glorified substitute shopping. Initially only going because I needed more materials to make some artsy crafty things (which I did get.) I couldn’t resist a SALE sign in a designer store. So in a went and low and behold I snagged myself a pair of these Lacoste FreeStyle trainers that I’ve been eyeing up for some time. Originally £80 but the sale cut it to half price. Love is…

Lacoste

I really really love them. Brings back memories from when I was small and all I would wear was trainers, from Nike. What a fashionable tyke I was. Tucking my shoe laces in the side because I couldn’t do them up. Investing in velcro. How I miss my youth (not).

Buying these was probably also influenced by the candy-funk concept that new Korean girl band 4minute created with their song “Hot Issue”.
I advise you check it out, I really love some of the stuff they’re wearing. Not to mention possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever made my ipod devour.

Decotti / Decoden; Phone charms Galore!

From the day I first got a phone I’d always been fascinated with phone charms! Phone straps, anything concerning decorating my telephone. (Given that this obsession may have something to do with my at-heart-hong-kong-culturalness) I have a collection of possibly over 50 of them. So imagine my delight when I came across a Japanese phone charm decorating kit! From Japan!
Apparently popular, Decotti is the label of the decoration kit, introduced by Takara Tomy toys developer originating from Japan. Decotti provides a selection of tools & ingredients to make “fake” food. That look good enough to eat & that is when I’ve spent my free time doing I basically started as soon as the kit arrived.

The cute yet complete box.

Wonder Girls Wonderland and Wonder Girls JYP TOUR & Thailand.

Two posts in a day!

I must be outdoing myself (:
But I couldn’t wait to update my thoughts about the Wonder Girls concert and the new episodes of Wonder Land finally up and subbed in english.
First of all, the Girls had their very own and FIRST concert in Thailand! How lucky is Thailand?!
Also there was a JYP tour.
I am so jealous I did not get to go. However sources that I have gathered told me that the the Wonder Girls were welcomed very lovingly and that their first concert and the JYP tour was a success, old hits like ibabo and new ones like Nobody were all performed and the fans had tremendous amounts of fun.
Sources from AllKPop.com tell me that the performance was a hit and all vocals were performed flawlessly, even So Hee who was drastically worser than others in vocal skills.

The first few Episodes of Wonder Girls Wonderland have been released on Youtube, Subbed by WonderSubbers of youtube. Series three (I think) takes you through the Wonder Girls hard practice for their first concert, to mini films they produced for it, and acts as a virtual diary for fans. I personally don’t find the series boring at all, each character gets their fare share of screen time and say.

Overall WG fighting! Staying strong and keep performing!
I can’t wait for any new songs though, I think it’s about time ;D
