Vampire Knight – Guilty? Objection! Sustained~

For a while I was engrossed with Vampire Knight/Guilty. Quick introduction – There’s a school where Vampires & normal students co-exist together because the president of the school believes that it is possible for there to be peace among the two kinds.
{Spoiler alert}
Inside the school there is a story developing between a guardian/student/secret vampire princess Yuuki Cross. A Vampire hunter who was made into a vampire from a deadly bite, Zero. A Vampire pureblood ( Who turns out to be Yuuki’s brother and is madly in love with her ) Kaname. So a love triangle develops, It’s Zero who loves Yuuki, who loves Zero and Kaname.
Then the story whirlwinds on a little, you get to know the side characters and the underlying story between the main characters.
To begin with, I really liked the story, the characters, the subtle love between Zero & Yuuki was really sweet. Zero who was quiet and most of the time kept to himself but was always protective over and sweetly loved Yuuki. I wasn’t really a fan of Kaname who had far too many secrets yet also complicatedly loved Yuuki.
The overall anime was short and sweet, but what really got on my nerves was at the end where Yuuki ended up with Kaname. Admittedly Kaname put out a lot for Yuuki, to make her life comfortable for her and loved her wholesomely but he’s just such a shady mushy, girly character. I just find Zero much better for Yuuki since Yuuki was the only person Zero had in his life and cared about, whereas Kaname had his followers and was extremely praised by society, he’s extremely powerful, all high and mighty and able to achieve everything he wanted. Not only did Zero lose himself to the curse of becoming a vampire when he didn’t want to be, he lost his family members and lastly his twin, now Yuuki too. I just feel so sorry for him, and normally I’d find these situations pathetic but something about his character melts me, it’s just terribly sweet and cute.
I hope there’ll be a season three, because I just hated how Yuuki left with Kaname & his followers. Then that was that, ofcourse after having Zero say, I’ll come after you one day. & Kill you. Which was also really sweet.
But yeah~ *Sigh* Despite that all, it was a good anime with a good story line (Loved the art). Yet just ended slightly sadly.

Three words: Read the manga.
Comment by Jaymie June 25, 2009 @ 9:25 pmI really like Zero too. I’m not yet done reading the manga comics so I don’t know what’ll happen. I’m just in chapter 43, but it’s really evident that Yuuki chose to be with Kaname. Poor Zero.
I also blogged my reaction about this anime. Here’s the link — http://hindiakoto.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/vampire-knight-good-plot-crap-drawing/

No, it’s much worse. haha. In Manga, you can’t tell who’s who. Even Kuran Rido and Kuran Kaname look the same.
